Monitor Surveillance Technician

Duties and Responsibilities:
Monitor Surveillance Technicians gather heart beat patterns of patients and check for any changes and abnormalities of the heartbeat.  They use computers that display information of various patients and maintain the equipment clean.

Salary: $26,000 - $41,000

Education:

Students should take challenging courses in high school on math, science, and computer technology. Special programs should be taken to become a monitor surveillance technician in vocational school, community college or hospitals.
I wouldn't like to become a monitor surveillance technician because there isn't really much to do other than sit there and check monitors for things that might need the patients to find. Not necessarily prepared for a job like that I don't believe I would be.
